Cornerstone is a strong missions church. About 19% of our church budget is designated for missions.
As a church body we share in the monthly support of 7 missionary families in foreign fields and 9 families in the United States. Eight of these missionaries are Cornerstone church members. Two of these, Don and Jodi Green, left in July, 1996 to go to Slovenia with
Campus Crusade for Christ.
We contribute to the Iowa Baptist Conference, the Baptist General Conference, and WDLM Radio.
We also have an active STEM (Short-Term Experience in Missions) program.
Since 1987 STEM has sent out 79 people to more than 7 countries on a variety of different missions projects. In the past few years church members have been sent
to Russia, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Moldova and Mexico.
Cornerstone has helped to plant two churches. One, the Vietnamese Baptist Church
in Davenport, Iowa. Cornerstone joined together with four other area churches to plant the Vietnamese Baptist Church.
Cornerstone was also involved in planting Roca Eternal, a church located in Reynosa, Mexico. Cornerstone provided financial resources and laborers to construct the
church in 1999. In 2000-2001, Cornerstone purchased more property to move
Roca Eternal to an unflooded area.
